It is the fifth year the Rotary Club of Tamar Sunrise, which has a committee of seven people, has been involved in the Launceston Carols by Candlelight
Carols coordinator Danny Gibson said a week before each carols, the club prayed for fine weather and good crowds.
That was the least intensive part of the event.
The club was responsible for getting thousands of candles and song books to each of the gates ready for people to converge on City Park, he said.
It was no easy task to coordinate and plan with about 70 volunteers, but all the money raised went towards The Examiner’s Empty Stocking Appeal, he said.
Carols had become the club’s iconic event, which would be held on December 17, he said.
Mr Gibson’s favourite part of the event was reliving the evening through other people’s eyes by flicking through the photos posted.
