The 2017 Northern Midlands Art Competition and Exhibition will hold its gala opening at Longford’s Christ Church Parish Hall on Thursday.

This year’s theme for the Northern Midlands Art Group-hosted exhibition is Small Wonders – all entries are paintings that are 30x30 centimetres.

More than 100 paintings are expected to be entered into the competition.

Thursday’s opening gala will also feature a high tea as a part of the festivities, with the event running from 1pm to 4pm.

Following the exhibition’s opening, it will be open to the public from Friday to Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.

Admission into the gala opening is $25, while entry on the three other days is by gold coin donation.
