Five hundred dollars of new books have been donated to the East Tamar Primary School, as part of a statewide Rotary initiative.

The Rotary Club of West Tamar has chosen to support the school, with the help of Petrach’s Bookshop, to help boost literacy across the North.

Club member Kathryn Darlow and school principal Karen Hay were once colleagues, and that professional relationship led to the donation.

“It’s really significant, we are really committed to ensuring that our students have the best opportunities in life and to be given a donation such as this, with the high quality literature, is a really great opportunity for students to borrow books they might not have seen,” Ms Hay said.
