The installation took a team of 10 technicians about two weeks, with 500 magnesium alloy cabinets which house the LED fencing.
Launceston mayor Albert van Zetten said the electronic boundary signs were a pre-requisite to secure Big Bash League games.
“While it will make its public debut at the Big Bash game in December, the fencing will also be used during AFL matches next season and we have no doubt it will add to the atmosphere of any major event we hold at the stadium,” he said.
“We are excited and it is going to be a real opportunity to promote the ground and the sponsors of the ground while it is on.”
The state government contributed $300,000 towards the cost of the LED fencing.
“I am hopeful that there’ll be many thousands of Tasmanians that will turn up and support this event,” Treasurer Peter Gutwein said.
