The seven-month long upgrade came to a conclusion earlier this month, and brings an extended menu, a larger seating area and an open view of the kitchen.
“[The recent extensions] have created an area which allows us to engage more with our customers,” Sweetbrew co-owner Archana Brammal said.
The extensions are on the back of several changes since the store opened as a takeaway coffee shop in 2014.
Mrs Brammal explained that the business has flourished, partly, due to its organic growth.
Instead of forcing changes on consumers, Mrs Brammal, and husband Tim, have chosen to rely on market forces to guide the direction of Sweetbrew.
All of its extensions and upgrades have happened incrementally, with customer feedback driving all changes.
“Our growth was a natural progress based on customer feedback and what they thought might work,” Mrs Brammal said.
“You have to be willing to evolve and make yourself stand out, that’s what we’re doing every year.
The couple is already ruminating over what their next big project will look like.
However, the next step is likely to take a different direction.
“We’re always thinking about what our next adventure will be,” Mrs Brammal said.
“It will be coffee, but it won’t be in this format.”
