He recently won the 72-hole club championship that included a 65.
The club held mixed foursome championships and David House teamed with Amanda Smith to win while Christine Wadley and Jim Magliarditi won the nett.
The club played the Bass Strait Challenge against the Victorian club of Greenacres and won for the fourth year in a row.
Frosty start
Launceston Golf Club member Andrew Frost had the ideal start to his round last week when he carded a hole in one at the par-four first hole.
Playing in a four-ball guest day he got the team off to a great start although they did not feature in the placings.
This was his second ace in 40 years at the club with his first in 1997 at the 14th.
Scrambled open

Berne off
Robbie Berne, of Prospect Vale, has finished runner-up to Stephen Toyne, of Indooroopilly, in the Tasmanian men’s senior matchplay championship final at Tasmania Golf Club.
Berne won his semi-final over David Gleeson from Dubbo 5/4 before narrowly losing the final.
Mowbray host
The Northern men’s, women’s, junior, senior and colts championships will all be played at Mowbray Golf Club on Sunday, December 10.

Open season
The Tasmanian men’s and women’s open championships are scheduled to get underway at Royal Hobart on Thursday.
The combined field of 110 comprises predominantly of players who competed in the Tasmanian amateur and associated events at Tasmania Golf Club.
Men’s champion Simon Hawkes is not playing as he is trying to qualify for the Australian Open.
The women are competing for the Elvie Whitesides trophy and Steffanie Vogel, of Victoria, is back to defend her title.
