While the relay will not take place until February 7 next year from 9.25am, several roads will be closed for about 10 minutes each for the event.
The Launceston leg, which celebrates the upcoming Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast, will start on Abbott Street in East Launceston.
Relay runners will make their way through the streets to finish on the Town Hall steps in St John St about 10.15am.
The route will head along Abbott St, before connecting to Arthur St, Elizabeth St and Charles St. From there, the baton will head along Paterson St to Brisbane St before connecting to Cimitiere St via Lawrence St.
Turning onto Tamar St, the relay runners will make a quick dog leg to head along Cameron St to Civic Square.
City of Launceston Mayor Albert van Zetten said, “hosting the Queen's Baton Relay is a tremendous opportunity for the City of Launceston to showcase the beauty of our great city to the rest of the world”.
