One dog died, but staff at the clinic were able to save the other two dogs.
The centre took to Facebook to warn dog owners about the danger of the poison.
“This poison is potentially deadly even if a small amount has been eaten,” the post said.
Snail bait can come in pellets, granules, liquids or powders.
Symptoms of snail bait poisoning include salivating, shaking, vomiting, diarrhoea, rapid heart rate and seizures, and are usually present within an hour of ingesting.
Snail bait poisoning should be treated as an emergency.
The Animal Medical Centre is located at 266 Charles Street, Launceston.
