When you look closely at countries who have redefined marriage you find some significant changes to society.

There are hundreds of people who have lost their jobs, their businesses; their ability to foster a child or study at university simply because their views on marriage no longer align with the laws of their country. 

Then there are the crazy almost unbelievable stories of political correctness: 

London Transport’s banning the use of ‘offensive’ terms like ‘ladies and gentlemen’ and the British Medical Association advising its 156,000 members not to use terms like ‘mother’ and ‘woman’ in case it offends transgender people. ‘Pregnant person’ is a suggested alternative.

Children are impacted too.

Altering marriage laws to say gender is not important and all relationships are the same means our education system must teach this. Parents who think otherwise find themselves squaring up against authorities. 

Earlier this year angry parents at Rocklin School in California got a taste of this. A teacher apparently took the liberty of having a ‘coming out’ event for a 5 year-old boy, who was reintroduced to the class as a girl. The teacher had read to the children from books teaching that it’s up to them to choose whatever gender they want. The conclusion: parents were told their children must participate in such lessons.

In case you are thinking such things won’t happen here:

Madeline was considered to be a ‘risk to children’ by her employer because she is voting ‘no’ in the postal ballot – she was sacked. IT Specialist Lee Jones conveyed to his boss that, although he was happy to work on the current project – the Safe Schools Program, he wouldn’t want his children taking part due to its controversial content. He was sacked.

While on the topic of Safe Schools – did you know the program teaches our kids they have two virginities – one for the first time with a boy and one with a girl; that being a boy or a girl is up to them to decide? Terms like ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ should be avoided, it says, because it reinforces the idea that heterosexuality is the only normal. 

Fortunately Aussie parents were able to push back and get some of the more controversial elements removed. The ability to challenge such programs post same-sex marriage are likely to be greatly reduced.

Last month Pansy Lai was the subject of a GetUp! hosted petition calling for her deregistration as a Paediatrician for her support for the ‘no’ case. 

Coopers Brewery got such a walloping for their neutral stance on marriage after commissioning a beer for the Bible Society, they quickly recanted in the now famous ‘hostage video’. 

Then there’s Executive Mark Allaby and Professor Kuruvilla George who were both pressured to leave their posts due to their connection with groups who believe that biological mums and dads are the ideal for raising kids (now apparently considered hate speech in Canada).

The people pursing these supposed ‘haters’ are often LGBTIQ activists who deliberately target anyone who opposes their goal of normalising all forms of sexuality and gender expression. In their eyes everyone should be celebrating such diversity not just accepting it or tolerating it. 

No wonder removing gender from marriage is so significant to their agenda.
