A motorcyclist has died after a crash at West Launceston.

The 41-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when he hit a car on Hillside Crescent, just before Brougham Street.
The crash was reported about 9.15pm on Wednesday.
The motorcyclist was taken by Ambulance Tasmania to the Launceston General Hospital in a serious condition.
Tasmania Police later confirmed that the Summerhill man had died.
The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Northern Accident Investigation Services remained on the scene late into the night.
The male driver of the car was not injured, police said.
The cause of the accident is not yet known, however police said speed may have been a factor.
Road closures were in place late into the evening.
Crash investigators will be back at the scene Thursday morning.
