The festival, delivered in partnership with Launceston City Council, has been moved to Launceston Royal Park following last year’s event at the Esplanade and Shields Street.
Organiser James Harding said the new location will accommodate greater crowds and is more in line with the national Beerfest Australia family-friendly environment.
“Following our debrief from year’s event, our biggest motive was to move the festival to a grassy area,” he said.
“We have always tried to keep it a family-friendly and moving it onto grass is more in line with that.
“This way people can bring their picnic blankets and it is more of a relaxing day.”
Mr Harding said the park’s amphitheatre will also offer perfect viewing for the epic main stage entertainment, including major acts Ash Grunwald and Kid Kenobi.
The 2017 Launceston festival was hailed a success, with more than 8000 people attending over two days.
Some negative feedback was received regarding the amount of public toilets available, with reports of people waiting half-an hour in queue.
Mr Harding said the feedback had been taken on board, with measures put in place to prevent toilet queues from “bottle-necking” again.
He said 2018 patrons can expect a large range of iconic national brews including Gage Roads, Hawkers, Pirate Life, Edge Brewing Project and more.
“Everyone has heard of the growth of Tasmanian craft beer and our participants in other regions are keen to come down and take part in the experience,” he said.
“We offer great packages for multi-festival participation and everyone is excited to grow their brand awareness to the Tasmania community.”
The Beerfest program will also include a full day of live comedy, beer-food matching, cooking demonstrations, masterclasses and brewer forums.
The first release of tickets will be available on Wednesday, November 1 from Eventbrite.
