The 11-year-old won the nationwide competition for his idea of edible sticky tape – Eat it Tape.
The tape would be used to hold wraps together, without the fillings falling out.
Bicheno’s youngest inventor won $1000 and was given the opportunity to participate in the Engineers without Borders workshop in Melbourne.
He will present his idea to a final panel, with the winner awarded a trip to the NASA Kennedy Space Centre in Florida.
“This level of thoughtfulness proves the next generation will achieve great feats” judge Dr Jordan Nguyen said.
