The best bites and beverages in Launceston are set to light up George Street on Saturday as part of Fiesta on George.

The event will see 24 food and drink vendors from George Street and surrounds come out in the open to showcase the colour and vibrancy of the town.
There will also be a great range of local retailers participating in the event.
A free event for all ages, Cityprom anticipate as many as 5000 people will join the action this year.
Cityprom marketing officer Laura Wilson said she expected Fiesta on George to keep growing.
“There is so much to be excited about in Launceston at the moment,” she said
“The weather is now warming up and festive season has arrived.
“Events like Fiesta on George really highlight the fantastic food and wine culture we have here.”
As part of this year’s event, Launceston businesses Alchemy Bar & Restaurant, Henry’s Bar, O’Keefe’s Hotel and Red Brick Road Cider will be setting up outdoor pop-up bars, while local restauranteurs will be providing special menu options and flavoursome street food.
Works at the CH Smith site on Saturday will see both east-bound lanes of Cimitiere Street to be temporarily closed between Bathurst and Charles streets on Saturday, so plan your journey into town early.
