This year’s event will feature the inaugural Ricky Ponting Award, which will honour individuals who routinely give up their own time in order for youngsters to enjoy playing sport.
The man himself will be on hand to present the prize, and said he was “looking forward” to getting on stage.
In addition to the Ricky Ponting Service to Sport Award, there are categories for male and female individual sportsperson, male and female rising star and junior sports team.
Previous guest speakers for the awards have included Tour de France cyclist Richie Porte, triathlon world champion Jake Birtwhistle, AFL player Nathan Grima, Olympians Tristan Thomas and Georgia Baker and world champion rowers Scott Brennan, Anthony Edwards and Ali Foot.
Tickets for the event are $45 per person.
