A man killed while crossing the road in Launceston has been identified as Ian George Palmer.

The 65-year-old from Newnham died after he was hit by a car in York Street on Monday morning.
A man in his 70s was driving the car but was not physically injured.
Tasmania Police said Mr Palmer did not use a pedestrian crossing.
Investigations into the incident are continuing and anyone with information should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
