George Bailey’s sparkling one-day form could earn him a national recall, says Tigers teammate Ben Dunk.

Despite losing his Cricket Australia contract earlier this year Bailey has showed no signs of slowing down, scoring 86 and 126 in his last two appearances to lead Tasmania to its first two wins of the season.
“I think George has been in pretty spectacular form,” Dunk told media at Hobart airport on Saturday
“Not only (Friday) and the game before but realistically for the past 18 months.
“I’d certainly love to see him back in the green and gold and I’m sure if he continues the way he’s going there’ll be no excuses.”
Bailey hasn’t been the only catalyst for the Tigers’ upturn in form, with Dunk also making impressive contributions in the past two games.
The wicketkeeper-batsman has been a revelation with the ball, snaring game-high figures of 3-14 against South Australia before backing up with two wickets in Friday’s 114-run win over the Cricket Australia XI.
Dunk said his form with the ball wasn’t the result of any pre-season masterplan and had surprised him as much as anyone.
“I honestly did not bowl a single ball for the whole winter.
“When (coach Adam Griffith) was appointed I spoke to him early on and said I’d like to keep working on my wicketkeeping and the bowling was not a priority - I didn’t want to be spending an hour and a half bowling in the nets for the possibility of bowling at some stage in a game.
“That’s just how it has worked out I guess, George threw me the ball and I thought ‘ok I’ll give this a go’.”
The Tigers will host Queensland in their final roster game on Tuesday, with finals still a possibility should they claim their third successive win and other results go their way.
Griffith said he was pleased with his side’s form in the past two matches but wouldn’t entertain talk of a top-three spot just yet.
“We’re still not focusing on finals yet, we’ve got to win one more game and hope things fall our way, we’ll put something in place for Tuesday and then see how it falls after that,” Griffith said.
“Queensland are a pretty good unit, they’ve played some good games throughout the tournament and they’ve got some good batters going well at the moment so we’ll focus in on them, and if we do what we need to do and do it well hopefully things will fall our way.”
The Tigers’ final roster game will take place at Bellerive Oval at 2pm, with the competition’s two finals to follow at the same venue on Thursday and Saturday.
