Each year, the TasTAFE Alanvale campus students perform a gig to help raise funds for equipment for the department.
The Dipheads guitarist Joe Kallman said seven bands had been preparing since the start of the year for Boilin’ Bangers.
“The fundraising is to make the course better for next year’s students by providing new equipment,” Kallman said.
Music teacher Carl Bulow said the event was in its 4th year.
It usually raised up to $2000 on the night, which helped to pay for guitars, amps and mix desks in the past, Bulow said.
“We need to keep the gear up to date with the music industry.”
- TasTAFE fundraiser Boilin’ Bangers will open doors from 7pm at St Ailbe’s Hall on Margaret Street on Thursday. Entry is $5.
