Police say the Trevallyn woman was spotted using her mobile phone while driving, on York Street in Launceston on Wednesday afternoon.
When police tried to approach her, they say she sped off through an intersection, hitting another car.
Her route continued through several red lights on Wellington and Elizabeth streets, before she ditched her car in the ABC studio car park on Ann Street.
Police tracked her car to the site, and found the woman hiding in a front garden off High Street.
Police say it was lucky that no one was injured as a result of her driving.
She was charged with evading police, dangerous driving, unlicensed driving, driving an unregistered vehicle, and using a mobile phone while driving.
She was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
Her car has been confiscated by police for 28 days.
