The book is the fourth in a series documenting the colonial history of the former municipality of Portland in North East Tasmania.
His new work is a historical account of towns such as Goulds Country, Goshen, Terryvale and Pyengana.
Richardson believes the book is a valuable historical resource for East Coast Tasmanians.
“It’s got a lot of interesting material in it from the early days of our forebears and even if you don’t come from the areas involved it gives you a good insight into the lives people had from those days,” he said.
The official book launch is at St Helens’ history rooms on October 22.
