The buyer for the July 2015-born angus bull was Blyth Bros from Ellinbank in Victoria.
Roberts Western Junction stock stud manager Jock Gibson said there was a complete clearance of the 103 bulls for sale on the day.
“It was a very strong sale,” Mr Gibson said.
More than 50 buyers attended the sale on site at Landfall, Dilston, and the average price was $8238.
“Close to half the the cattle went to the mainland, and many to King Island,” Mr Gibson said.
Landfall owner Frank Archer said this year had seen a continuation of previous strong returns for the property’s breeding program.
“One of the key motivators in growing our business is to continue to provide the best value genetics to the commercial beef sector,” Mr Archer said.
“Landfall genetics have a proven track record for nearly 70 years and our genetics are backed by an organisation with integrity and high quality service,” he said.
