Tasmanian whisky is currently gaining accolades on the world stage, putting the island state up there with some of the greatest whisky making countries in the world.
And it isn’t just the whisky getting recognition, the beautifully crafted copper stills are too.
Kolmark has teamed up with Stillsmiths Tasmania, to design and create whisky stills that are already creating waves not just in Tasmania but overseas too.
“The whisky industry in Tasmania has seen an incredible growth and it is hopefully an industry where we can make a name for ourselves,” Mark said.
“We were approached to fabricate our first whisky still about a year ago, we had never worked with copper before but the transition for the team was quite easy.
“The quality of the work was fantastic, our guys are not just tradesmen, they are craftsmen and it really showed in the final product.”
Working with Stillsmiths Tasmania, Kolmark can design, fabricate, install and commission any piece of distilling equipment.
“We are working to build a brand of Tasmanian distilling equipment from milling through to distilling that can showcase not only the Tasmanian whisky but Tasmanian fabrication too,” Mark said.

Kolmark have also set their sights on distilling their own whisky in the not so distance future.
“The ultimate goal is to turn the old Kolmark workshop in Westbury into a distillery,” Mark said.
“Not only will that allow us to craft a great whisky, but we can design and fabricate the distilling equipment too.
“It will be a showcase for the Stillsmiths brand, clients will be able to see a fully operational distillery manufactured solely from Stillsmiths Tasmania equipment.”
The plans should bring further investment and tourism opportunities to the Westbury area.
"This is an exciting time for Kolmark to be embarking on this project with Stillsmiths Tasmania,” Mark said.
“This should bring further investment into an already booming industry, we are already receiving enquiries from overseas and locally too,” Mark said.
