The roundabout was one of two intersections identified as being dangerous, with the NARC raising concerns about the number of parking bays near the entrance to the Prospect Vale Market Place shopping centre car park. Cr Perkins said while the Meander Valley Council had previously been aware of an issue with the amount of parking spaces, it was now focused on improving other areas of Westbury Road.
“We did suggest to the developers there should be less spaces for safety reason, but they wanted a certain amount for the shopping centre,” he said.
“The Meander Valley Council is committed to improving the safety of other parts of Westbury Road, such as the new roundabout at Prospect Vale Park, which we are improving to make the area a more accessible junction.”
