About 2500 TasNetworks customers were left without power on Thursday afternoon after a gardener struck a pipe on Holbrook St, flooding one of the energy company’s substations.

Customers in Launceston, Mowbray and Invermay were affected by the outage, which was reported just before 3.45pm
A spokeswoman for TasNetworks said the company isolated two of the feeders to the substation to prevent further damage which, in turn, left people without power.
As of 4.30pm on Thursday, there were still 114 customers without power.
