Coach Ben Brookfield said Launceston City clearly still has “unfinished business” to settle up on Saturday with League Cup opponent Glenorchy Knights in Hobart.

City had put in their worst performance of the year back in May on the end of a poor 6-0 defeat to the Southern Championship side.
The then-Lakoseljac Cup semi-final loss also would end City’s dreams of a playoff spot with Olympia Warriors to enter the round of 32 FFA Cup main draw.
Brookfield said motivation will now be easy to find.
“We played them before and they gave us a bit of a hiding,” Brookfield said.
“But we know that they have a lot of NPL quality too.
“If you ask the boys before the draw, they wanted either Rangers but even Glenorchy, so we could not get revenge, but show our worth against them and turn it around.”
Northern Rangers travel north to play Devonport City, a side coach Lino Sciulli has caused the season’s big improvers a series of problems.
But it was not the opposition drawn out that raised eyebrows at last Saturday night’s League Cup draw, but the Valley Road venue.
“It’s going to be pretty heavy ground after we’ve had a bit of rain,” Sciulli warned.
“Three times we would’ve played them down there now and they’ve been heavy tracks each time.
“The last two times they’ve given us a bit of a thumping, so we’re going to have to work on some things.”
Sciulli also dismissed the Strikers’ indifferent form.
“They’ve very well coached and they play to a system, and if you not prepared to run with them and work very hard, then you’re going to come unstuck,” he said.
