DelRock High will see students perform in front of the community, with the winner given a chance to take part in the Rock Challenge.
The school’s music teacher, Georgia Stevens, said the students had previously been really successful at the challenge, which had motivated them to do well again in 2017.
“We have a heap of bands ranging from grade 7s to grade 10s. They will compete in an acoustic section and then a rock section,” she said.
DelRock is being held in the school’s gymnasium from 6pm. Entry is $5 with all funds raised going back in to the school’s music department.
