Clark, who turns 24 on Friday, will ride favourite I’m Wesley in the $25,000 Luxbet All Weather Sprint final.
”I’m mainly coming home for my birthday but I’ll definitely be riding on Sunday because I think I’m Wesley is a great chance,” she said.
I’m Wesley blitzed his rivals in the prelude a fortnight ago, scoring by more than four lengths from Le Bel Opera.
He has an extra 1.5kg to carry in the final but trainer Glenn Stevenson believes that will be offset by his added fitness,
“There’s a lot of improvement in him – our main aim is still a fortnight away,” Stevenson said after the prelude win.
I’m Wesley will be stepping up from 1000m to 1175m but that should prove ideal.
He’s had three starts over 1175m on the synthetic track for two wins and a second.
His overall record at Spreyton is eight starts for five wins and two placings.
Clark has also had a good association with another of the final runners, Treasury Bond, who didn’t contest the prelude.
The Barry Campbell-trained six-year-old hasn’t raced since mid-March and hasn’t trialled.
But he goes well fresh, having won two of his three first-up runs, and is also a dual winner on the track.
Clark has ridden Treasury Bond to two of his five wins.
APPRENTICE Teagan Voorham, the star of last week’s meeting with four winners, won’t be riding on Sunday.
Voorham received a one-meeting suspension for careless riding on Classic Outlaw at Spreyton on August 6.
She had the penalty deferred until this week.
Siggy Carr will also be missing as she completes a two-meeting suspension.
TASMANIAN sprinter Lord Da Vinci is a $10 chance with Ubet for the $120,000 Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield on Saturday.
Trainer Scott Brunton brought the gelding home after a first-up win at Moonee Valley on June 17.
He won a trial in brilliant fashion at Elwick 10 days ago.
David Pires will take time out from a winter holiday to ride the seven-year-old who has drawn perfectly in barrier 4 and will carry only 0.5kg over the minimum.
