At least 10 high school students from rural Australia will win the opportunity to rub shoulders with politicians and chief executives, gain leadership and public speaking training and tour parliament, Country to Canberra chief executive Hannah Wandel said.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to connect with other young rural go-getters!” Ms Wandel said.
“We target high school because it’s a critical time in a young woman’s leadership pathway,” she said.
Tasmania’s 2016 winner Imogen House, from Wynyard, said the program had a big impact on her.
“It was life-changing. It inspired me to to go after my goals and advocate for what I believe in,” Miss House said.
Entrants must explain how Australia can create strong pathways to power for women.
