Being named Tasmania’s 2017 Legendairy capital has given Ringarooma a boost, the farmer behind the town’s nomination, Marcus Haywood, said.
“Everybody is rapt in it. We’re primarily a dairy area and everyone realises how important it is,” Mr Haywood said.
Ringarooma, which has 20 dairy farmers producing around 52 megalitres of milk each year, is one of eight 2017 Legendairy capitals to receive $2500 for a community project.
The town plans to renovate a school recreational area with new bike track signs, a giant chess board, vegetable patch and community defibrillator maintenance.
