The cafe has been an iconic part of Launceston’s central business district, located in the upper level of what is now Harris Scarfe, in the Brisbane Street Mall.
The Examiner sat down with co-owner Rhonda Talbot and employee Lorraine French on Friday.
The pair shared some of their fond memories, as well as a series of images taken throughout the years.
Ms Talbot shared the images, which feature some of the cafe’s regular customers as well as past and current employees, to say thank you.
Many Tasmanians took to Facebook to share memories of times spent at Fitzies.
And many expressed sadness about the closure.
Fitzies will close in about three weeks.
