Blake Heazlewood, 17, was riding his motorcycle down York Street on Sunday afternoon when the crash occurred between his bike and a car.
“I woke up on the road with people around me,” he said. “I couldn’t feel my foot or my arm. There was a lady holding my hand saying everything would be okay.
“She was telling me not to move and to breathe and stay awake. She said she was there for me and that I’d be okay.
“I went into oblivion again after that and woke up with police and paramedics around me.”

Another man, known to the family only as ‘Simon’, comforted Blake’s mother, Lisa Atkins, when she arrived at the scene.
“He was amazing. We couldn’t possibly thank him enough. You just don’t meet people like that these days,” Ms Atkins said.
“He was holding me up and telling me it would be alright. He took my keys and drove me to the hospital and stood there with my keys and purse for me.
“They were both unbelievable. We’re so thankful.”
Blake has about two months of recovery ahead of him, after tearing ligaments in his shoulder and hip, and suffering soft tissue damage from the crash.
He was taken to the Launceston General Hospital for treatment on Sunday afternoon, and was discharged Monday afternoon.
But he counts himself lucky it wasn’t a lot worse.
“Hospital staff said he was very lucky – it could have been much worse,” Ms Atkins said.
Blake took to social media earlier in the week to try and track down the people who helped him and his mother after the crash.
“I'm trying to find people that helped me to say thanks for everything,” he wrote on facebook.
“If u know who they were, please tag them or send me a message.”
Blake said he still felt shaken up and felt a bit sick whenever he looked at his motorbike, but that he would be riding again once he recovered.
“It will probably be a different bike though. This one is pretty destroyed.”
Police were called to the scene at the intersection of York and St John Streets shortly before 2pm on Sunday.
“Tasmania Police advises that no charges have been laid in relation to the crash,” Senior Sergeant Craig Fox said.
