Three crews were called to a fire in the house’s loft bedroom at around 7.30pm on Saturday night, closing the street between Augusta Road and Hickman Street for the duration.
The crews, wearing breathing apparatus, were challenged to gain access to the fire due to its location, spending two hours gaining access and extinguishing the blaze.
A fire watch was placed on the property overnight and a formal investigation begun on Sunday morning.
