A fresher Tasmania has recorded its second men’s victory in Wollongong at the Australian under-21 hockey championships.
Tasmania had to bounce back from an early mishap on Thursday to beat ACT 2-1.
The Canberrans scored inside the second minute to initially take the lead.
But Ben Austin returned fire twice – both in the first half – to guide Tassie home after its rest day.
The state women had to settle on securing a 1-1 draw against Northern Territory.
Madeleine Hinton locked in a early second-half goal in reply to the Territorians’ first.
