Monday’s session saw dancers aged six and above perform more than 200 pieces across group and solo divisions.
The performers were not the only ones to impress, with dedicated mothers and seamstresses gaining a special mention from Western Australian judge Tracey-Lee McKinney, who was most impressed with the quality of costumes on display.
The competitions will continue every day this week before wrapping up with trophy presentations on Saturday night.
Admission to the competitions is $8 for adults and $5 for children and concession.
