Applications open this week for the program, which was designed to offer 18-24 year olds a chance to develop their ideas among people with experience in the startup industry.
Emerge is an initiative of The Van Diemen Project, which is being delivered in partnership with the federal government’s Entrepreneurship Facilitators Program.
Executive director Adam Mostogl said they want successful applicants to have an authentic experience of what life is like in a co-working space.
“We can definitely see the benefit of them coming to Cowork and spending six weeks intensely developing their ideas,” he said.
“Anyone within the age group can apply, and we can help them in business areas where they need assistance.”
“The Van Diemen Project has 19 subject matter experts behind the organisation with backgrounds in different fields.
“If someone needs help with their finances, we can get in a chartered accountant.”
Once applications close on July 17, a round of interviews will be conducted from which the five successful applicants will be chosen.
The selected participants will benefit from a number of elements of the incubator program, including having a dedicated work space, regular presentations on core elements of business to help them establish themselves with confidence, as well as regular mentoring sessions to provide one-on-one support from subject matter experts.

For Mr Mostogl, the biggest advantage of the program is being based out of the Cowork building.
“One of the main reasons why a lot of people come to work here is to separate work from home,” he said.
“A lot of the people who would be applying for this would be working from home, so this would allow them to focus on their idea throughout the day, and still collaborate with people if they choose to.
“We find young entrepreneurs tend to do business on the side of something else, so focus for them might be as simple as they’re spending their time here so they are not at home on the couch watching Netflix.”
Applications for Emerge close at 4pm on Monday, July 17.
