The now 25-year-old was joined by emergency department nurse Sonya Bilich and hospital aide Christine Kleiner in taking part in the event, with the trio raising more than $5000 for Leukemia Foundation.
He admitted his female counterparts were the driving force behind the project.
“It was Sonya and Christine initially, and they asked me not so long ago,” he said.
Ms Bilich said Friday’s shave was the culmination of a year-long plan.
“For the last 12 months, I’ve tried to grow my hair as long as possible to shave off this year,” she said.
“My hair will go to a hair library in Victoria connected with the Leukaemia Foundation, where patients can go and select hair they want used for a wig.”
More $16 million has been raised nationally from the World’s Greatest Shave.
