The Tasmanian government has revealed it paid more than $1 million dollars to Safe Pathways between July 2015 and late last year.

Human Services Minister Jacquie Petrusma said on Monday that a total of $1,160,240, plus GST, was paid to the provider for the out-of-home care of children over the time period.
Eleven children were removed from the care of Safe Pathways after allegations were aired about care mismanagement of children.
Mr Petrusma said previously that all government funding to the provider was ceased soon after the allegations were made.
“As I have previously stated, all children previously in the care of Safe Pathways have been transferred to other care providers, with no more government funding going to Safe Pathways,” she said.
The government is currently undertaking a review into the provider.
