Voorham has been booked for Rather Heroic, trained by her master Nigel Schuuring, and Black Hills, trained by Graeme McCulloch.
The 21-year-old has been indentured to Whitemore-based Schuuring for almost a year.
“I’m excited but at the same time I’m nervous because I want to get everything right,” Voorham told the Tasracing web site.
“It’s good that my first ride is on Rather Heroic because I ride her a lot in trackwork and she should be a chance in an open race.
“I trialled Black Hills a few weeks ago and they took the horse back to Spreyton this week so that I could ride him again.”
Voorham comes from a pony club background and it was when she was in her teens that she began to consider a career as a jockey.
“I got my start working for Larry Dalco and was with him for about two years,” she said.
“I then rode for a few trainers at Longford before signing on with Nigel.”
Voorham also competes in polo cross events.
She can claim 4kg until she rides five winners.
FIELD LIMITS for the Tasmanian Turf Club meeting at Mowbray on Sunday week will be reduced to 10 runners.
This follows a track inspection by stewards, track staff and jockeys’ representatives on Wednesday.
Tasmanian Jockeys Association general manager Kevin Ring said he wasn’t happy with the proposed 12-horse limit with the running rail out so far.
The rail will be out 10-½ metres from the 1200m start to the winning post and out 7m for the remainder of the track. It’s not previously been any wider than 9m.
