Arts festival director Heidi Howe said towns along the coast were "thumping" with excitement and energy.
Visitors on Saturday attended workshops, exhibitions and took part in a coach tour of open studios but she said there was plenty more to see.
“Sunday is probably the most visual day of the festival in that the arts market is open between 9am and 3pm, the low 'n' slow barbecue competition will have all their meats for judging and there is full tilt boogie playing from 4pm to 7pm which is a free family event,” she said.
The $20,000 Bay of Fires Art Prize exhibition also opens to the public on Sunday.
“There are also private artists opening their home studios, where they quality paint in private and we go onto their own property and we see them in their studio,” Ms Howe said.
“The artists love it because it's a chance for them to talk to people and they feel that they are making a real connection which is really important in art.”
