The tournament has a long history of bringing together the best junior players from across the state to represent the South, North and North-West regions in a round robin series.
In the under-15 age-groups, players are looking to establish a benchmark against their peers before state teams are selected for the 2018 Australian championships.
Northern convener David Hickman said: “Last year, the teams from the South took out the honours, but for this year’s comp our Northern coaches in former Australian masters player Sarah McRobbie and state under-age players Josh Commins and C-Jay Denman are quietly confident that their charges have the potential to turn the tables.
