The Division 1 side meets Ulverstone and will most likely line up with Greg Longmore, Mitch Van Noord, Cam Bell, Matt Marston, Brett Churchill, Sean Harris and Josh Molendyk.
Ulverstone is into its first preliminary final for several years, and the squad will be Cameron Allen, Brayden Field, David Allen, Craig Walker, Anthony Glozier, Gary Smith and Xavier Lambie.
Launceston will be hard to beat in the 36-hole final although Ulverstone did defeat the highly-fancied Wynyard for the North West title, and its players know the Woodrising layout well.
In the Division 2 preliminary final, Launceston plays Penguin and in Division 3 Launceston plays Wynyard. The three state finals are in the South on June 18.
Prospect Vale will meet Ulverstone in the Women’s Division 1 state pennant final at Mowbray Golf Club on Sunday.
Prospect Vale are likely to select from Tammy Hall, Diedre Panton, Julie Berne, Lily Caelli, Lindsey French and Patsy Muir. Their opponent Ulverstone won the state Division 1 preliminary final against Tasmania at Wynyard four matches to one.
The Division 2 state final, also at Mowbray, comprises a round robin with teams from St. Helens, Elderslie, Tasmania and Burnie Golf Clubs competing. St Helens has a strong team with Peta Buchanan, Joanne Williams, Marion Green, Sandra Fleck and Helen Krawczyk.
The Division 3 state final at Mowbray is also a round robin with teams from Exeter, Seabrook, Orford and Kingston Beach. Exeter’s options include Cindy Bowkett, Helen Streets, Tania May, Julie Donahoo, Jenny Hatton, Margaret Farquhar, Kay Hope, Alison Unwin, Wendy Cuthbertson, Sue Clark and Evon Ford.
Shaun Kruskha has taken out his 15th Scottsdale Club Championship with a total of 208. The B grade title went to Phil Stanley on 186 and the C grade title went to Tim Fletcher on 199.
