Now in its third year, the event attracted a wide array of prominent designers from Tasmania and the mainland, who shared ideas within the creative space. Design Tasmania chair Pippa Dickson said this year’s conversation focused on the social benefits of design.
“There has been discussion about cities and housing, as well as mental health,” she said.
“One of the ideas that is really starting to blow up within the industry is designers thinking of the individual and the collective point of view.”
The colloquium was split into three parts; transform, empower and act. In between, guests had the opportunity to take part in Q&A panel discussions, as well as a networking lunch.
The keynote speaker for the event was artist Kirsha Kaechele, who is the curator and founder of the Life is Art Foundation, as well as the wife of Museum of New and Old Art owner, David Walsh.
