The Dockers fell to Hobart City by just nine points in round four in one of the most promising performances of the season for the 1-6 side.
“We will take a lot out of this one, and we have few more inclusions this time around,’’ Proctor said on Friday.
“We are building and think we are capable of providing the effort for four quarters.”
But he understands the challenge in front him with the Southern Bombers.
“There is that internal focus for us about internal improvement, but we haven’t taken our eye off the ball about what we need to do against Lauderdale,’’ Proctor said.
“[Thor] Boscott and [Ryan] Wiggins have been heavily involved in their scoring, and we need to get their match-ups right and throughout the game when they roll blokes like Fyfe and [Bryce] Walsh forward.
“The boys understand that when those moments do come, they need to stick to the process.”
On the ultimately unsuccessful attempt to have Jason Laycock suit up for this encounter, Proctor said the “hysteria” created by reports of his inclusion meant that it wasn’t something worth pursuing.
Devonport will also be on the road to visit the Twin Ovals to take on the Tigers.
“We think we are starting to be in games for longer, and what we are after will be a four-quarter effort,’’ coach Mitch Thorp said of the 0-7 Magpies.
“If we can produce our best footy for somewhere near 100-120 minutes I think we will be in the game.
“The challenge is to put four quarters together, we’ve seen little patches and we do think as the season goes on, we will get better.”
The Pies will be in action from 1pm on Saturday. The Dockers’ match against the Bombers will start at 2pm.
