A bumper line up of local acts is set to take the stage at Club 54 as part of event, which was created to honour the larger-than-life personality in the wake of his death last April.
Organiser Brad Harbeck said there was no better way to remember Kev’s legacy.
“He was a real driving force behind the local scene, and gave a lot of bands their first shows,” he said.
“We had plenty of people come out for the first one last year, and this time around we have a lot of bands coming from the other side of the state to play, so it should be good.”
The line up for Saturday’s main stage includes Angus King, Cardinels, X’s, Radio Silence and Squid Fishing.
Concert for Kev is not only designed to bring together some of the best talent from around the state, but also to give a helping hand to those trying to make it in the industry.
One band will receive a $500 Music Tasmania grant in Kev’s name.
Harbeck said it was all about helping young musicians who were starting out.
“We really want the emphasis to be on new acts, because Kev spent so much of his time assisting bands who had just come on the scene.”
Kev Gleeson passed away last April at the age of 55 after battling various health conditions.
The Concert for Kev will be held from 8pm at Club 54 on Saturday.
Club 54 is located on Cameron St.
