Kakushinkan Shukokai Karate’s Kelly Hoinville won the prized female senior open and mixed super kata divisions.
The 24-year- old secondary teacher and national squad member defeated Kimekai Karate Tasmania’s Clare Henry in the final to win the kata and Kintora Shotokan Karate-Do’s Annalise Beechey and Karate Budokan Tasmania’s Jack Slater for the mixed super kata.
Daniel Campbell claimed the senior open men’s kata title over fellow Les Elliott’s Karate Academy member Sebastian Krasnicki and Slater who bounced back to win the senior open kumite title with a win over Kimekai Karate Tasmania’s Sam Webb.
The state’s elite competitors will turn their attention to the national titles in Liverpool from August 4-6.
