St Helens won the Constance Pearce Division 2 Women’s Pennant Final against Riverside at St Helens by the narrowest of margins. Riverside’s Pauline Pearson won against Helen Krawczyk 2/1 and Alison Henty defeated Sandra Fleck 6/5.

St Helens’ top order players came to the rescue with Peta Buchanan defeating Carolyn Welch and Joanne Williams defeating Kathy Allison. The result came down to the final hole where Marion Green held her one-up lead against Rose Searle giving St Helens a 3/2 win.
Northern Golf held the inaugural B and C grade championships at Longford.
Lindsay Rhodes of Longford won the B grade gross with 90 from Matthew Perry of Ulverstone. Tony Peebles of Longford took the nett event with 74 on a countback from Corey Wells of Prospect Vale and Jarrod East of Longford.
Launceston’s Cameron Page won the C grade gross with 90, ahead of Longford’s David Faulkner. Page also won the nett with 68 over Faulkner on 72.
Ulverstone caused an upset defeating Wynyard in the North West Division 1 pennant at Devonport.
Brayden Field halved his match at number one against Paul Marshall, David Allen lost to Craig Hancock 10/9, Cameron Allen defeated Ben Johnson 8/7, Craig Walker defeated Jeremy Hubbard 6/5, Gary Smith lost to Heath Middap 7/5, Anthony Glozier defeated Craig Clark 5/4 and Xavier Lambie defeated Greg Radford 6/5. Ulverstone now plays Launceston in the State Preliminary Final at Devonport on June 4.
Ulverstone defeated Smithton in the North West Women’s Division 1 final, earning a place in the State Preliminary Final at Wynyard against Tasmania on May 28.
