After spending months on the hunt for her own copy politician Tania Rattray decided to relaunch the original recipe book with the help of Merrilyn Lette.
“Everyone has one of these books. They have been handed down through families and no one wants to part with them, including my mum,” Mrs Rattray said.
The original book is about 40 years old and word is travelling fast about the relaunch.
“We’ve had families from the mainland get in touch. Some of them have their families recipes in the book,” Mrs Rattray said.
The book already has 130 pre-orders and will be launched on May 14 at the Mechanics Hall at Scottsdale.
Any surplus funds being donated to the hall’s adopt-a-chair program.
“We’ve asked Stephen Love, who owns Galloway’s Pharmacy to launch it, because he is one of the original advertisers and he is still living and working in our community.”
Books are $20, to purchase contact Merrilyn Lette on Facebook.
