Their 2015 Porsche 911 GT3 hit a bank near Riana during the third day of the Tarmac Rally.
A Targa Tasmania spokesman said Cuneo was transferred to the North-West Royal Hospital in Burnie for observation and assessment.
Cuneo was released on Wednesday evening.
He did not receive any serious injuries.
The event continues on Thursday, making its way from Burnie to the West Coast.
