The Launceston-born forward initially joined the NBL outfit last season as an injury replacement, but remained part of the playing group throughout the year.
The Wildcats confirmed on Thursday that the athletic 32-year-old, who attended West Launceston primary, Riverside high and Launceston College before moving to the Australian Institute of Sport in 2003, had signed for the 2017-18 season.
A veteran of 161 NBL games, Walker received the Wildcats coaches’ award honour during his first season in Perth.
He averaged 5.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in the 2015-16 NBL season alongside Cluan’s Adam Gibson at the Adelaide 36ers.
Prior to his stint with Adelaide, Walker was a key player for Melbourne from 2010-2015.
Walker joins another Tasmanian, Burnie’s Matt Knight, as the Wildcats follow back to back championships.
