CHOPPER is coming back to Launceston. Rather than the notorious Chopper, we’re getting a visit from the notoriously funny comedian Chopper. The Heath Franklin-created character will be at The Tramsheds at Inveresk on Friday, from 8pm. He’ll be supported by Chris Franklin. Tickets are $30, and available through Trybooking.com.
Hobart punk band KNIFE HANDS are taking on the Midland Highway for a Saturday night show in Launceston. They’ll be supported by home-town talent in Bennylava, Third Degree, and Speck. The gig starts at 9pm, at Club 54. Entry is $10 on the door.
Down south, DWARVES are ready to cause mayhem at Hobart’s Brisbane Hotel. The US band is in the country for a bunch of tours and shows. They’ll play with Wolfpack on Saturday night, from 9pm. Tickets are $39.80 via Oztix.
It’s a big week for international artists at the Brisbane Hotel. AGAINST ME! will play the infamous venue next week, as part of their Shape Shift With Me album tour. The band will be supported by Melbourne’s Camp Cope and Launceston’s Bansheeland when they play the ‘Bris’ on Thursday, May 4. Tickets are on sale through Oztix For $49.
Launceston’s monthly female talent showcase is chucking one last party before winter rolls around. WHEN SHE BELIEVES is packing a massive punch this month, with a strong line-up from across the state. Starting off the evening is Eve Gowen, a solo artist from Launceston. She’ll be followed by @NoFelixMusic, out of Hobart. Launceston’s Cotton Pony round out the line-up with their five-piece interpretation of alternative country-rock. The gig will take place at the Royal Oak Hotel on Friday, May 5, from 8.30pm. Entry is $5 on the door.
June is looking good for live music already. In Launceston, it’s just been announced that SKEGGS will be in town on their Holiday Food tour. They’ll play Club 54 on June 25. Tickets for this show are on sale now through Oztix. In Hobart, THUNDAMENTALS are also on tour, stopping at the Republic Bar on June 24. Tickets for this show are on sale at Moshtix for $45.
