The Break O’Day Council is set to investigate more parking options at Scamander after councillor Hannah Rubenach-Quinn put forward a notice of motion at April’s council meeting.

“It was recently brought to my attention that in late 2008 early 2009 a petition was signed by residents of Scamander and lodged with council asking for consideration of car and large vehicle parking needs,” she said. “I have been asked to bring this matter back to council’s attention, as some residents have continued to have concerns regarding the safety and adequacy of existing parking arrangements, in particular around the Mouth Cafe, Post Office, Scamander Beach Hotel area.”

She said tourism growth made a report into the issue necessary.
